The boss of Sainsbury’s, Justin King, spoke to sustainability experts on Monday regarding the supermarket’s plans to introduce a new renewable energy and Fairtrade scheme.
The talk took place at a Green Mondays event in the city of London where Justin talked about Sainsbury’s economical plans for the future.
The supermarket is set to invest £1 million into British farming research and has already invested in one-stop recycling facilities at stores across the country.
The supermarket boss has been subject to some criticism over whether the scheme is too much of a risk to take when battling for consumerism with other supermarkets including Asda and Tesco.
