The case continues for Raymond Shepherd, director of Albert Hill Skip Hire in Darlington, who was found guilty of flouting environmental rules in August.
The director, who was arrested earlier this month, has been remanded in custody over further accusations relating to illegal waste dumping activity.
He was arrested in October on charges that he was depositing waste on the firm’s base despite not having an Environment Agency permit, which was due to his sentencing in August.
He was originally found guilty of ten charges of operating without Environment Agency licences at their Dodsworth Street and Whessoe Road bases between 2008 and 2010.
Despite applying for bail at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court, Shepherd was turned down and remains detained. He is due to appear at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on 6th November.
