Recycling in Christchurch is on the up thanks to a new refuse collection that began in early October.
The recycling Dorset service was introduced by the council across the whole borough.
Recycling improved immensely in the first two weeks of the service and the amount of waste going to landfill was also significantly reduced.
The recycling rate prior to the new scheme was at 34%, but now the recycling rate has gone up 70% in just two weeks.
The 428 tonnes of waste that was collected during this time included 200 tonnes of dry recyclables, 70 tonnes of food waste and 30 tonnes of garden waste.
Of course whenever there’s a big waste job that needs to be taken care of in Christchurch, skip hire is always a viable option!
