How To Use Your SkipHow To Use Your Skip

  1. If you have any problems with your skip AT ALL, always contact us on 08445 60 77 10 (Mon-Fri 0800-1800, Sat 0800-1300) or email us using the online form here. Problems at weekends are more difficult to resolve than during the week due to staffing levels across the country, so please bear this in mind.
  2. Skip Hire, Skips, Hire Skips from TopSkips.comBecause skip hire involves heavy haulage, it is not always possible to give you an exact time for delivery. Please read “The 7 Secrets to Successful Skip Hire” for a full explanation, and also bear this in mind if you are planning on taking a day off work (i.e. don’t make the skip arrival time central to your plans for the day). We are very flexible and will always try our best to fit in with your plans.
  3. Skips must NOT be overloaded. Not only can this prove a problem in picking up the skip, it also poses a hazard to motorists and pedestrians, and is highly illegal. The correct way of loading is for the waste inside not to exceed the top of the walls of the skip, particularly if the waste is predominately brick and rubble. For health and safety reasons, TopSkips reserve the right to “level” the waste on picking up the skip if it is deemed unsuitable for transit.
  4. TopSkips does not accept the following: food waste, computer monitors, televisions, full paint cans, aerosols, gas canisters, tyres, fridges or freezers, or plasterboard.
  5. TopSkips does not accept asbestos – in any shape or form! Speak to us or make an enquiry about hazardous waste.
  6. In no circumstances should a fire be started in a skip.
  7. The skip must not be moved from the position on site agreed by the customer and the TopSkips driver.
  8. Please ensure that the agreed position for the skip is clear of any obstruction
  9. In the unlikely event that the driver asks you for money or gives you an invoice, tell him that you have already booked and paid for the skip through TopSkips.
