There has been much investment in the area recently, with a major redevelopment of The Arboretum due to start imminently. Funded by the city council and with a grant of £50,000 from Waste Recycling Environmental Limited (WREN), this refurbishment will see the restoration of various historical buildings within the park as well as bringing the former Park Pub back into use as a cafe.
Mansfield is a largely urban town situated about 12 miles North of Nottingham. With a heavily industrial past, both coal mining and textiles had a real impact on the economy, and the decline of these industries has led to a diversification in the employment base with a Town Centre Business Improvement District being established in 2010. There are redevelopment plans in process for the area, with retail and residential development plans being mooted as well as plans for leisure facilities and road improvements.
Mansfield Town Centre is actually situated in what is known as a ‘bowl’ – a depression in the valley of the River Maun, which makes skip placement tricky. TopSkips are here to help, though, with a wide range of skips from a 2-yard mini skip right up to a 40-yard roll on roll off, we are sure to be able to find the right size skip for you. You may also need to get a permit to be able to place the skip on the road in Mansfield, but TopSkips can take care of all of that for you.
Grantham is a small market town that lies about 24 miles east of Nottingham and is perhaps most well known for being the birthplace of the former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Grantham has been quite an industrial place in the past, but many of the old factories have now been turned into offices or demolished to make way for new housing developments. A recent survey by commissioned by South Kesteven District Council showed that there is more than 1500 acres of land available in Grantham, which would be suitable for building up to 15000 homes on.
Larkfleet, a housing developer, have out forward a plan to build homes 500 homes on one of the sites suggested and this is being considered at the moment. For housing developers, choosing a waste logistics company is a vital decision, and at TopSkips we are pleased that we have been able to help many housing developers over the years to provide them with reliable and bespoke waste removal solutions. We work hard to ensure that we save all our customers time, reduce their costs and help them meet their environmental responsibilities.
Ilkeston is a town in Derbyshire where the distinctive dialect of East Midlands English is still spoken. Ilkeston is quite an industrial area, with both coal mining and textiles featuring in its history. One of the largest employers in the area was the Stanton Ironworks, which saw its last casting in 2007. A large amount of the huge Ironworks site has since been given over to a business park, with the rest being earmarked for development in the future.
Recent changes in Nottingham have meant that residents now have to register their vehicles with the local recycling centre otherwise, they will not be allowed to use it. This has meant that residents in Long Eaton who had previously been able to use the facility in Beeston, now face a 16-mile drive to the Ilkeston facility. At TopSkips we know that driving all the way to the tip (often multiple times) can be a pain in the neck. So, why not use our Skip Hire in Ilkeston service to save you time?
